In previous years, this special double issue consisted of high-class restaurants, elegant events, and other decorative aspects of the city. Personally, I feel that these are not the reasons why I, and many others, truly adore New York City. For me, the city is full of shady "holes-in-the-wall," dirty creatures, and strange occurrences that make it a one of a kind experience. Not only do these conditions breed a sense of exciting instability, but also motivates its inhabitants not fail or succumb to such rough, yet terrifyingly realistic, circumstances. While people visiting might get sick of these traits and not understand why anyone would want to live here, true New Yorkers not only can appreciate this vulgar beauty but thrive in it as well.
